For me it's This PC > Windows (C:) > Programs Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Fallout 4 > Fallout 4 folder inside the main folder where the fallout4.exe is at. then right click on Fallout4Prefs.ini Click on properties. Uncheck read-only then hit apply and ok.

1. In anything even remotely based on something Bethesda may or may not have touched at one point never never NEVER rely on quick saves. If you have an amount of saves in the single digits you have too few. Workaround is to take off the eyewear, save, quit to desktop, then relaunch and put the eyewear back on. In my experience, dying and having the game itself load the quicksave does not cause the issue. Only the quickload function seems to.
